How is it possible to connect two computers to the internet simultaneously using an ADSL router?

My ASUS AM602 modem is also a router (written on the box). One computer is connected via LAN port to the modem and the other one is connected through the USB port to it. But each computer can connecto to the internet ONLY when the other one is not connected. What settings should I configure to use both computers connected to the internet at the same time?

How do I connect 2 computers via internet to transfer files?

I need to connect 2 computers, that are about 2 miles apart. Each computer has its own high speed cable internet connection. I need each computer to be able to access files from the other. Is there a cheap/some what secure way of doing this?

others computers cannot connect to the internet through this computer?

i would like to set my computer up to be a server in my network,so i ran network setup wizard from control panel. But when i choose “This computer connect directly to the internet, the other computer in my network connect to the internet through this computer” it keep saying :”others computers cannot connect to the internet through this computer”. What is the problem actually?

i have 4 computers though out the house and one of them is connected to a Router by wire but the others are connected by wireless adapter’s. but they keep losing connection. the wireless adapters are belkin G+ and cost £25 each. is there a better adapter that cost less or any other think i could use for the computer to connect to the internet.

i have to computers next to each other, one has a wireless adapter for the internet and the other one does not. How would i be able to connect the computer that does not have an adapter to the one that does so that they can be both connected to the internet. I do not have a laptop.
